Boating Season begins!

The weather has been gorgeous lately, so TJ and I decided to take the boat out on it's maiden voyage of the season.  We figured that we'd wait until after Kali's nap so that we could gather everything together while she slept and be ready to go when she woke up.  But, apparently Kali had other plans for us.  She has been waking up when we try to put her down in her crib.  At night, she's so tired that she only cries for about 5 minutes before falling asleep.  But today for her nap, she cried for 10 minutes and showed no signs of going back to sleep.

Of course, minus a nap, she's a little cranky!  Defiant is probably a better word for it.  So needless to say, I was incredibly frustrated trying to get everything together for us to head out.  BUT, she behaved very well on the boat and actually fell asleep about 3/4 of the way out to the island, in her life jacket! She was so adorable! She slept for about 45 minutes, and then we were able to let her out of the boat and play in the sand! She loves it!!! Loved to sit in the sand and let the water rush up to her.  I can't wait to be able to get out there for a whole day and let her play.  And now that we know she'll sleep on the boat, we won't have to wait until after a nap.

Our little princess asleep on the boat.

Look at those cheeks!
LoVe!

After she woke up she figured that she would explore the boat.
Seeing what's in the cabin

Trying to get out of the cabin...butt first!

She adores these little purple flip flops I got from Target (for $2.50).
I'm thinking her favorite color is going to be purple. :-)

Snack Time!
I got the Gyro Bowl since she likes to try and pour out her snacks, and brought it along.
It was PERFECT for the boat.  Even with it rocking, her snacks didn't spill!
I'm now a Gyro Bowl believer!

MmMmMmMmMm...Fishes!

I didn't get any pictures of us on the actual island since we forgot the second anchor and had to wade to shore. I'm too nervous about my clumsy tendencies to bring the camera into the water. But next time for sure! We'll have our dry box and I'll be sure to take pictures.

We stayed for about an hour before heading in.  It was a great lazy trip! And a perfect maiden voyage for us.  I think it might have even been Kali's first trip to Shell Island.  She's been to the beach before, but not sure she's been to the island since the boat was in the shop most of last season.  Definitely going to be something fun for us all to do!!!!!

Me and my Kali-bug on the trip home.
And I'm totally rockin' the Lesband.  Hey, it keeps my hair outta my face! LOL!

I love our beach!

And Summer Begins...

Summer has started and that means Trips to the Beach and Fun in the Sun!  Kali has had more pool time than I have (and I'm totally jealous!!!!!!!) thanks to Mema and Papa! Their neighbor has a pool and lets them use it whenever they want.  So Kali gets to enjoy the pool too! Lucky kid!

She was digging in the sand with her feet.
And then she was really interested in the ocean.

Toes in the water!
I tried to let her feel the water since she was interested.
She was not having it!
She didn't like the water, and only wanted me to hold her so she could look at the water.

TOES!!!!
I had to get a picture of our toes in the sand. I love it!!

My little stinker

I love this picture of her. :-)

My sister and nephews are in town for a few weeks before they get shipped off to California for 3 years (gotta love the Navy).  I was so excited since Katrin and the boys haven't been able to see Kali since Christmas.
Katrin walked in the door and immediately wanted to hold Kali (of course).  Kali was sceptical at first, but then warmed up....until Devin walked in.  Then she wanted nothing more to do with Katrin and wanted to play with Devin.

This was on Father's Day at my parent's house.
She played with Devin most of the day!

He drove her all around the house in her little car.
Devin got exercise and Kali got to relax! HAHA

Then the dogs went outside and Kali apparently wanted to go too...
She was licking the glass.  Yup, that's TJ's kid right there! :-)

And you can see her Navy Princess outfit! Katrin and Don got it for her and she's just now able to wear it.  It's the new Digital Camo.  She looked so cute in it.

On a side note: I got to go to a KEITH URBAN CONCERT!!! In case you didn't know...I LOVE Keith Urban.  He's a great performer, has awesome songs, and makes pretty babies! ;-)
I've seen him in concert about 6 times.  Anytime he comes within a 5 hour drive of Panama City, I'm there!  This time was in Biloxi.  So me, Lauren, Theresa, JD, Dallas, Holly and Mike all piled into Dallas's Escalade (yes, we were riding in style) and drove the 4 hours to Biloxi.  Stayed at the Beau Rivage and went to his amazing concert!
Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure!

Starting off the concert! AMAZING

Then...he came down to the middle the floor, and this is how close we got to him.
No zoom for this picture! :-)
It was so awesome.

Close ups that were on a projector on stage.
Lauren told me to take a picture of a man at the door with flowers, cause we'll never see that in real life! LOL

It was a great trip.  But with this bunch of folks, there is always "fun" to be had.  I thought that I'd get some good sleep being away from Kali's nighttime wakings...but nope.  I just had different kids to take care of! But I wouldn't trade it for the world.  Great memories anytime I get together with friends. And plenty of bathtub stories to go around! HAHHAHAHA

Beach Day!

This past weekend, we were able to head over to Mexico Beach (to the East of Panama City, about 45 minutes away - and a whole lot less crowded than our Panama City Beach beaches!!!!!) where a friend had a condo for the weekend.  We had a blast.

Although I'm still hobbling around on a hurt knee, I just couldn't deny Kali her first trip to the beach.  So I 'suffered' through for her! ;-)

Travis and Trevor were taking a nap when we got there, so we decided to head to the pool first.  Now, Kali has had some fun in her little whale pool, but we've not ventured into a REAL pool.  She loved it! Kicked her little feet like she was on a mission to go somewhere.  She even moved our little float around once I stopped treading water.

I got in the pool with her first (and our little joint floaty - LOVE) thinking that the water exercise would be good for my knee.  While I'm sure it was good for my knee...it hurt like !&)dfg#%)(sdg(&!)&asds*)*&@()sdf*)#(^%iulhkj the devil. So I only lasted about 15 minutes before waving the white flag and tapping out. So then TJ got in with her.  She just loved it and had so much fun.

Then, after the boys woke up, we all headed across the street to the beach.  Let me tell you just how nice it is to be able to WALK less than 50 yards and be on the beach.  It's nothing like PCB.  Mexico Beach is quiet, and serene.  There were people flying kites, and fishing from the shore, and there were shells galore for the kids to play with (and Travis tried to take about 1,000 of them home with him).  It was even so nice and quiet, that TJ and Kali fell asleep for about 20 minutes.  Peaceful!  I don't think I'll be going to PCB anytime soon, unless it's the island on our boat.  Mexico Beach is the way to go, for sure!!

Anyway....back to pictures:

TJ and Kali at the beach.
I love her smile in this picture!!

Her feet in the water for the first time.

Splish Splash

She didn't love it.
(I think she gets that from her mom.  I don't like the salt water either)
This is about the time she looked up at me like
"Ok, that was fun...moving on"
So then we played in the sand and let her nap.

My little beach bums napping

KALI at the Beach =)
She was so interested in the water and the waves that there was no getting her to look at the camera.
So I just went with it. :-)

She's got her toes in the sand

I love her

So, that was our wonderful day at the beach.
If anyone wants any information about the condo my friend rented (2 bedroom 2 full bath, full kitchen, balcony overlooking an inlet, boatslip, and pool access.  All across the street from the beach (literally about 50 yard walk to the beach)) please let me know and I'll forward you the information.  It truely was wonderful.  And this comes from someone who has lived near a beach for almost all of my life.  And I rarely go to our beach just for fun. It's gotta be for something that I have to be at in order to make me go.
