5 MONTHS

I can't believe I just wrote that! Kali is 5 months old! I feel like it was just yesterday when TJ and I went to Larry's Giant Subs (OMG YUMMY) for my egg salad sandwich before heading to the hospital. ::Sigh::

Last night I attempted to take some pictures of Kali with her "I'm 5 months old today" sign.  I say attempted because she DID NOT want to cooperate.  So I'm going to have a re-take photo session with her this afternoon when I get off work.  But for now...here are the "best" ones from yesterday! Enjoy my little 5 month wonder :)

This is the only "smile" I got on camera.
As soon as I'd put the camera down, she'd be all grins...UGH!
That's my kid, the one that doesn't like the camera.  And I'm the mom who LOVES to take pictures.

"Well now, this looks yummy.  I love when mom gives me yummy treats.  I think I'll enjoy it now." :)

My mom was trying to hold the sign so Kali wouldn't try to eat it again....
But then she just wanted to stare at it like "But I just wanna TRY it.  I won't eat the whole thing."
"Pictures are dumb!"
She was trying to eat the camera (like everything else!).  And when I told her "No." This is what I got.
I love that drooly face!

5 Month Stats:

Weight: Probably about 18lbs.  I love all your chub!!
Height: At your 4mo appt you were 25.5 inches.  I'm not sure if you've grown a lot past that, but my guess would be 26 inches =)
Eating: You're still taking a 4oz bottle every 3-4 hours, plus eating a veggie every night.  So far we've tried: Green Beans, Carrots, Peas, Squash, and last night we attempted Prunes.  You're doing great with eating solids.  Sounds like we're going to start bumping you up to 2 a day.  With a fruit in the morning and then veggie for dinner.  You're getting so big!!
Sleep:  You have been wonderful with sleeping, and love your crib!  Bedtime is between 8-9pm.  Bath normally starts at 8 and you're asleep by 9, but sometimes you're just too tired from a fabulous day with Grandma/Mema & Papa that you can't wait until 9 to go to sleep.  Once you're asleep, you normally wake up about 6am.  Dad or I will go get you from your crib and take that hour to snuggle in the bed with you before we get up for work.  That and bedtime are my favorite parts of the day! I love snuggling with you!!!
Accomplishments:  You're trying to sit up on your own, but you're just not there quite yet.  But if I hold your hands or a pillow is behind you, you can sit up for a long time.  You are rolling around like crazy! We've resorted to just laying a big blanket on the floor with toys all around so you can just roll to whichever you want to play with.  It's hysterical to watch!  You've also just figured out the jumperoo and have begun to LOVE it! Before it was all about the toys that are attached, but now you're actually jumping and can spin around.  You've also just started to sort of scoot.  If there is something that you really want to get to, you'll roll and then do this scooch thing til you get to it.  You can raise up on your arms and do a complete push up, so I'm sure crawling is in the near future!  You are really starting to enjoy stroller rides around the neighborhood and love staring at all the trees.  Dad can't wait to put your swing in the Magnolia tree in the front of the house.  I bet that's going to be his weekend project just for you! =)

I just love you to pieces and can't believe how big you're getting! Next thing I know you'll be crawling all over the house! I can't wait!!
I LOVE YOU, MY LOVIE!!!

Random pictures of my bebe

I have some random pictures that I've taken of Kali over the past few weeks.  There's really no rhyme or reason for them...so I figured I'd just make a big post of them all! :)

Kali at a Birthday party we went to.
She was so interested in all the other kids. It was so cute!

Nom Nom Nom
FEETS!!

She loves her feet.
But only nekked feet!
If there are socks on there, she doesn't really mess with them.

Little Miss Thang rolled from her mat (on the left)
all the way over to the piano and then scooted onto it!
She's going to be crawling before I know it!

TJ snapped this one of Kali and me.
I was so exhausted one night that I fell asleep after giving her the bedtime bottle.
But we look pretty angelic! =)

Kali's new toy!
It spins, and rattles, and makes noise!

But she just wanted to eat it! HAHA

Figuring out that the balls spin and make noise

Chewing on her favorite teething ring (Thanks Grandma)
TJ and I were doing some yard work and she was just relaxing staring at the Magnolia Trees!

High Five Mom!!

I love this smile so much!

"What? You don't eat your feet? That makes YOU the strange one!" =)

Relaxing in mom and dad's bed this morning!

Sorry some of these pictures are blurry. They were taken on my phone! But they were too cute not to share! I love this little girl!

Day 30-a picture

"Huh? What is that thing that keeps flashing at me?"

"She may be the reason I'm alive, the why and wherefore I survive...Me, I'll take her laughter and her tears and make them all my souvenirs, for where she goes I've got to be. The meaning of my life is she."

Home on a Monday...UGH!

And not for fun!!!  I've been dealing with knee problems practically my whole life.  No doctor can figure out what's wrong and it's getting tiring.  Some said Arthritis, some said overweight (they probably weren't totally wrong, but I'm working on that part...), and now they're saying GOUT.  OMG! I'm not happy.  Gout isn't curable, but it's "fixable".  No red meat (Boo! I like my steak rare) and no alcohol (I went 10 months without it, I can handle cutting that out).  ::sigh::

Last week my right knee starting acting up.  Was swollen and stiff and hard to walk (I looked like I was about 75 limping around).  I went to the doctor on Wednesday.  He said I had 2 options: 1) extract the fluid under my kneecap and inject some cortisone.  This is the most painful procedure I've ever had (I've had it done 2 times in the past) and I was NOT looking forward to this option. and 2) get an MRI scan and/or Xrays done to see if there is anything they can see on the scans that could answer the question of "What the hells is wrong with Stephanie?"
So obviously I took the MRI route. After having it rescheduled 3 times, I finally went on Saturday for the scan.  It wasn't bad.  Just lay completely still for 40 minutes.  The tech said that she could see fluid on my knee, but that the doctor would have to review the scans and would send them to my doctor by Monday afternoon.

This weekend, my knee was ok.  Still sore, but better than last week.  And then yesterday all hell broke loose again.  Swollen, stiff, hard to walk, miserable.  It probably didn't help that I attempted to assist TJ in the yard.  The lake behind our house has been drained so that the weeds would die.  Then they'll close the valve and it will fill back up.  So the weeds at the edge of our property are dead and we needed to get them up before the water rises.  I am NOT an outdoors person.  I can camp, but that's about it.  I don't do critters, I don't do bugs, and I don't like to sweat!  I helped for about 30 minutes, but then TJ mentioned the word "snake" and I was running (with Kali in the stroller) back to the house.  He found 5 snakes all together.  I'm glad he's clearing the weeds, but I am NOT the person to assist in this project.  But I think that me "helping" for those 30 minutes didn't really help my knee situation.

Last night I was in excruciating pain.  I took 1/2 a Lortab that my doctor prescribed (cause I had to work today and didn't want to be completely knocked out), but it did nothing for me.  Every time I went to roll over I would wake up in so much pain.  And then this morning, I can't even put pressure on it again. I need a walker. :-(

So I've made camp on the couch, forwarded all the office phone calls to the cell phone, logged into my office computer using logmein.com (awesome site and it's FREE), and am sitting here with my leg propped up.  I have my prescription ready at Walgreens, but I can't leave to go get it. So I'm stuck in pain until I can get up the nerve to leave the house and run get it.  ::sigh::

I did take some cute pictures this weekend of Kali in her stroller while we worked in the yard (really while TJ worked in the yard) and of TJ working and his collection of snakes.  I'll have to post them later.  And I'll hopefully have an update on my knees soon.

Day 29-3 Wishes

1) I wish that I could be a Stay at Home Mom, so that I don't/won't miss anything that Kali does. I want to be there for all of her firsts and I want to be the mom that attends all the soccer games, and the ballet recitals, and the music recitals, and makes her lunch everyday, and kisses her goodbye when she gets on the bus for school, and basically always there for her (which will eventually annoy the crap out of her as she gets older, and isn't that supposed to be a mom's goal in life?).

2) I wish that TJ would find a job that he loves! He has a great job, and loves what he does, but doesn't love going to work everyday because of the people he has to deal with.  I want him to be happy and love what he does.

3) I wish that we could take a family vacation (when Kali is around 10ish) to Italy.  That is m dream vacation and I can't wait to be able to go and see all there is to see over there.

Day 28-Something that stresses you out

There are a lot of things in this world that stress me out! My family stresses me out, my job stresses me out, money stresses me out, grocery shopping (UGH!!) stresses me out, Birthdays stress me out, a busy day stresses me out...can you tell that this list can/will go on forever?!?!

The one thing that doesn't stress me out:

The perfect end to every.single.day.
This is the most relaxing, rewarding, blissful thing in the whole entire world! :)

Day 27-Pets

We have Junior who is a Pittador (pittbull/Labrador mix).  We got him December 2006 (right after we got married) and he was our first kid.  He taught us a lot about having to take care of something/someone else.  And we definitely treat him like a child. He snuggles in bed with us, has his own cushion on the couch, his own bed by the sliding glass door (where he loves to watch the squirrels), and is so well behaved that we consider ourselves lucky! And now that we have Kali, we have 2 wonderful kids that are well behaved =)

Here are pictures of our first baby Junior:

He looks so pitiful, huh?! Adorable

See...he snuggles in the bed :)
Keeps your feet nice and toasty too

His own cushion on the couch.....
and he sleeps with a pillow.
Spoiled??

Junior's first trip on the boat
He loves it!
