Giddy Up!

This past weekend, we were able to go to a friend's dad's house up in the country.  He owns about 80 acres and used to train/breed horses, but only has 10 horses right now.  Unfortunately, it rained the WHOLE time we were up there (although it didn't even rain a drop at our house), so we didn't get to spend a whole lot of time with the horses.

But we got to enjoy some time playing in the rain and getting dirty all the same!!!
She got to play on a SOAKING wet slide.
I guess after the first time down, it became dry. :)
And was learning how to climb up there all by herself.
Such a big girl!!!

Stephen and Travis got to shoot the BB gun.
Travis was so excited when he actually HIT the target!

The rain finally stopped so we could head over to see the horses.  Mr. Paul said that all the horses would be wet, but we didn't care.  After all, Kali was already wet from the slide!  :)
But Mr. Paul put a towel on Star so Kali wouldn't get MORE wet.

Her name was Star.  She was so gentle and pretty.
However, Kali was NOT having it. Kinda reminded me of our trip to see Santa...
At first, the towel was the only spot that Kali would actually touch.

But then Lolo got her and she was finally getting used to the horse.
She touched her nose, and thought that it was the coolest thing!

And then...Daddy and Lolo got her ON the horse!
CHEESE!!!
She immediately wanted off, but Mr. Paul got Star walking.
And then she LOVED it!

Walking around with Star.

Weeee

Once she got used to Star, she was all Cheeses!

Then the ride was over. We told her to tell Star Bye and she waved.
Then she went in for a kiss (HAHA).
Star leaned in for those sweet sugars, and Kali decided it was NOT a good idea after all.
So she gave her a distant kiss (from about 3 feet away).

Mr. Paul told us that there were some baby miniature ponies in another pen.
(does that make them miniature, miniature ponies?! Meh, I digress)
Kali was no longer scared of the ponies and decided to run after this brown one.
He didn't appreciate that and retreated...quickly.
So she decided to just wave and kiss him from a distance.
This is the miniature, miniature pony.
They haven't been trained yet, so we couldn't go inside the pen.
And we were told not to stick our hands in there because he might nip at us.
But that didn't scare Kali.
She stuck her little hand in there and was able to pet his nose.
However, when I went to put MY hand in there he tried to nip at me.
She must have smelled better... ::sigh::

Then we took a visit to the big horses.
And she got to ride in the back of the truck (since it was a 2 second drive)
with Lauren and Michael.
She loved it!
I didn't get any pictures with the bigger horses since we weren't going to ride them.
But they have a beautiful Black and White horse, who was so tame and gentle.
We're going to have to go back up there one SUNNY day to ride!

And another reason I love living in Florida -
Beautiful Sunsets!
This was as I was driving, I couldn't help but take a picture.
It, of course, doesn't do it justice.
The sky was a gorgeous blue/pink/grey.
