A whole lotta shakin' goin' on!

The past few weeks have been very busy for our little family!!!  My sister and nephews were here for 3 weeks before heading to California where they're stationed now with the Navy.  Devin stayed here (while Katrin and Michael headed to California) until Don finishes his schooling in Milton and then they're heading out to California too, and TJ has been working in Pensacola for the past 3 weeks leaving me to be a single parent. And Kali and I started swim lessons with the Red Cross (and my dad) for the next 4 Saturdays in July.  Phew...I'm exhausted just typing it all out! Oh, I forgot to mention that Kali turned 9 months old on the 10th as well.  So this post will be HUGE with the pictures and information I have from the past few weeks. But I'll do a separate on with all her 9 month information.  OK...ready for some Kali and family cuteness? I thought so!

Kali took straight to Devin and they have become best friends! It's adorable and I love the way they play together.  Every time we go over to my parent's house (where the kids were staying) they would play together the whole time. And the same went for whenever the boys came over to our house (like right now he's building her a "fort" with the couch cushions so that she can crawl around and not hurt herself when she falls).  See...adorable!

Playing at Grandma and Grandpa's house

She climbed up on the sliding glass door and started licking it.
Not sure if she was trying to get to the dogs...or just wanted to lick the glass! LOL

Katrin and I went to Outback to eat and she wanted to help feed Kali.
I love this picture because both of their mouths are open!!
Hee Hee!

We also went to Sakura for Sushi.  (My Favorite!!!)
Since Kali can't have sushi, I got her rice and noodles. Two of her favorites.
Every time she'd get a noodle, she would have half hanging out of her mouth and then slurp it in!
We laughed every time she did it! I just had to get a picture!

Another day at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
She was loving to play with that little car.
Devin would push her all over the house in it.
They had so much fun!

"What? No I wasn't beating on the dog. I was...petting her. Yea, petting. That's what I was doing."
Good thing Kitty loves her.

Kali and Katrin.
And I love Michael's face in the background. He loves Kali...

Rubbing noses with the Grandpa

Of course...licking the chair!

We got some stickers in the mail for one of the Highlight magazine ads.
So I decided to put them on Kali. She was having so much fun trying to pick them off...
until she actually got one off, tried to eat it, and it got stuck to the roof of her mouth.

Dinner with Mom: Chicken Alfredo.  She loves noodles!!

I am on a mom forum called thebump.com.  It's a great tool for women who are going through all stages of child bearing: Trying to Conceive (TTC), Trimesters (1st, 2nd, and 3rd), and then after the baby's born (0-3 mo, 3-6, etc.), and they have have "Birth Month Boards", which I am a member of "October 2010" of course.  Anyway..... in the October 2010 board, we have all become pretty close friends.  I mean, we've been talking with each other for over a year now.  So when Crystal sent me a message and said that she was taking a family vacation to Florida in the Destin/Ft. Walton area asking me what fun things there were to do around there I said "Meeting ME!" LOL.  So, we made some plans.  I met them over in Destin at Fudpuckers for dinner on Friday, July 8th with Kali.  I'm a slacker and didn't take a lot of pictures like I wanted to. But I got a few cute ones.

Here is Preston and Kali meeting for the first time
(with Crystal and her husband Eli holding them)

Preston and Kali sat next to each other during dinner.
Shared some puffs, so smacks to each other's arms, and giggles.
They were adorable!

I was trying to take a picture of the two of them, but she hogged the camera with her cuteness.

Here we are: The October 2010 mommies with their babies.
Me, Kali, Preston, and Crystal
Preston was actually born early on September 9th. So he's a full month older than Kali
What can I say...I have a biggin'!!!

AND THEN...swim lessons started! Really, I'm calling them "Drown proof classes" for Kali and I since she's not really old enough to understand all of the concepts, but she's having fun and that's what matters.  She's the youngest in the class, but not the smallest.  Again...I have a biggin'.  There are two 13 month old little girls, but they're both smaller than Kali is. Oh well...

My mom came to our first day at the class and was able to take some pictures for me.
Here we're practicing the "key words" before entering into the water
"1...2...3...weee"
I guess it's so that the kids don't just go into the water without someone with them.
Eh...whatever. Like I said, she's a little young for some of the stuff in the class.
But we're still working on it.

She was trying to make her great escape out of the pool to my mom.

Our whole class.
There was actually someone in the class that I know!
Jeanette went to high school with me for a few years before going to Arnold.
And she used to work at the State Attorney's Office
and now works across the street from me. LOL!

FUNNY STORY...
Jen's birthday dinner was at my house this year.  She wanted hamburger and hot dogs because that was "summery" to her.  Plus they had just gotten back from their trip to Disney where they had some pretty rich foods at all the restaurants.  Her only real request was a strawberry cheesecake. I didn't want to be cheap and just get the Jello cheesecake...Oh No...I wanted to make a REAL cheesecake for her.  So I searched for recipes and found one that looked pretty simple.  I got all the ingredients, and went to town.  BUT, the recipe was FLAWED! It told me to put the cream cheese in LAST.  Which, if I would have thought about it and not followed the directions as they were written, I would have out the cream cheese in first to get it creamy and then put the rest of the stuff in.  Anyway...since I followed the flawed directions THIS is what my end result was.

Cheesecake FAIL!!!
::Sigh::

Good thing I realized that the cheesecake might not turn out right, and made this wonderfully delicious strawberry cake with vanilla frosting.
It was super yummy, so it made up for my horrible cheesecake.

Kali looking cute after getting in trouble for climbing on the end table.

And last, Kali apparently woke up one day and decided instead of telling us she was awake, she would just snack on her crib.  These are her little teeth marks on the side of the crib!!!!!  Guess we'll be investing in some refinishing soon.  ::Sigh::
She has some seriously sharp teeth to get through that wood!!
And I swear we feed her!!!!

 Tomorrow I will update her 9 month stats.  I know, I know...I'm a slacker!

Fireworks!!!!

Kali got to attend the 4th of July festivities this year and surprisingly...she loved it!!! I was so worried that since the fireworks don't start until 9pm and she's normally asleep in her bed by that time, that she would get super cranky and scream the whole time, or that TJ and I wouldn't be able to go to the fireworks because we had to get her home.  But thankfully neither scenario happened.
We walked down to the ball park near TJ's parent's house, set up our chairs and settled in to enjoy the firework show.  Kali clapped and pointed at them. She even made some "Ptth" noises which I guess sounded like them going off (boom).  I'm not sure. But it was adorable!

Sitting at iHop waiting for her pancakes...looking so thrilled!

US waiting on the fireworks
(don't mind TJ's goofy expression...he was in mid sentence I guess)

Waiting for the show to start

She was so excited!

Watching the fireworks with Daddy

She would point at certain ones. I think they were her favorite

This is one that Kali kept pointing at.
These are my favorite too!! =)

We had so much fun and I'm glad Kali got to enjoy them!

And, my sister and nephews were in town for the past 3 weeks before they got transferred to California.  I was so happy to get to spend some time with them and have lots of pictures to share.  But that's another post so I can talk about Katrin and the boys!  I'm going to miss them so much, but can't wait to be able to go visit in a year or two with Kali and take her the Wild Animal Park.  I remember going there when I was little and have lots of fun memories (like the train ride that goes straight through the critters and you could practically touch the zebras!), that I hope Kali can have too.

Anyway...like I said, another post! :-)
