Junior got attacked :(

Our wonderful dog Junior got attacked this morning while on a walk with TJ's parents.  They normally go to the park in the morning with Junior and Kali since there are about 4 different parks within walking/bike riding distance from their house.  They have this little cart thing that goes behind their bike for Kali to sit in, and Junior is really good about keeping up with the bike on his leash.

This morning, while on their bike ride to the park, a dog came running out of his house and knocked over TJ's dad and started attacking Junior.  They finally got him off and Junior seemed fine. The police were called and we got a report made.  But once they got Junior home, they noticed a gash on his shoulder. They called me and I met them at the vet's office.  It's not very wide, but it is very deep.  The vet decided not to stitch it up so that hopefully it will drain and not get infected in case something (like hair or dirt) got pushed down in the hole.  We have some antibiotics and pain meds for him.

And boy is he a trooper.  He was wagging his tail when I walked in the room at the vet's office.  Acting like everything was fine.  Junior isn't a fighter, but he will get defensive if someone were to come up to one of us, or tries to attack.  He's especially protective of Kali.

The whole accident could have been a lot worse, but thankfully everyone is alright.  Wayne has some scratches on his elbow and knee from being knocked down.  He's going to see how it feels tomorrow to make sure it's just sore from the fall and nothing else.
I did get some pictures of Junior's wounds.  The pictures, actually don't look as bad as the actual wound though.

My poor baby!
Sitting at the vet's office.

This is the hole right above his right shoulder.
When I took the picture, I realized that there was more than just that one.

The vet had to shave the hair so that it didn't get matted.
And then we realized there were 4 cuts.
The one on the left is the worst.  It's really deep, below the fat tissue.
It's the one that the vet is most worried about, because there was hair stuck in it.
She was initially going to flush it, but decided not to in case there was more hair stuck down there, she didn't want to cause an infection.

I'm so glad that no one else got hurt! I wasn't even there and my nerves are shot. Probably because he's like our first kid, and I don't know what I'd do if something serious were to happen to him! He's only 5, and we're hoping to have Kali grow up with him! He's the best dog, and loves Kali (most of the time. Like when she's not screaming at him or pulling his ears - but he lets her).

What a way to start a Monday!

Random Sunday

Here are some random pictures from the past week :-)
Nothing to see here, just reading an interesting story on Mom's Nook!

I ordered Kali some sock monkey slippers for Valentine's Day!
They're too cute!!!

Look at how adorable they are!!!
Kali playing in her tent, reading to Bunny Saturday morning.

She is starting to really enjoy coloring.
After breakfast this morning, she asked to color.

And she's very good about holding the crayon the right way already!

This was during lunch today.
My camera was still on the table from taking the coloring pictures,
and she kept pointing at it and cheesing.
MMmmmmm Lasagna face!

Daddy is going to be out of town Mon-Wed this week for work.
Apparently she wanted to go with him in his suitcase!

I (and 2 friends) am hosting a baby shower on the 11th for a friend.
Amy and I made this adorable diaper cake for the shower.

And then had some extra diapers, so we made the little mini cakes too!
We're so proud!

Giddy Up!

This past weekend, we were able to go to a friend's dad's house up in the country.  He owns about 80 acres and used to train/breed horses, but only has 10 horses right now.  Unfortunately, it rained the WHOLE time we were up there (although it didn't even rain a drop at our house), so we didn't get to spend a whole lot of time with the horses.

But we got to enjoy some time playing in the rain and getting dirty all the same!!!
She got to play on a SOAKING wet slide.
I guess after the first time down, it became dry. :)
And was learning how to climb up there all by herself.
Such a big girl!!!

Stephen and Travis got to shoot the BB gun.
Travis was so excited when he actually HIT the target!

The rain finally stopped so we could head over to see the horses.  Mr. Paul said that all the horses would be wet, but we didn't care.  After all, Kali was already wet from the slide!  :)
But Mr. Paul put a towel on Star so Kali wouldn't get MORE wet.

Her name was Star.  She was so gentle and pretty.
However, Kali was NOT having it. Kinda reminded me of our trip to see Santa...
At first, the towel was the only spot that Kali would actually touch.

But then Lolo got her and she was finally getting used to the horse.
She touched her nose, and thought that it was the coolest thing!

And then...Daddy and Lolo got her ON the horse!
CHEESE!!!
She immediately wanted off, but Mr. Paul got Star walking.
And then she LOVED it!

Walking around with Star.

Weeee

Once she got used to Star, she was all Cheeses!

**Kali riding Star**

Then the ride was over. We told her to tell Star Bye and she waved.
Then she went in for a kiss (HAHA).
Star leaned in for those sweet sugars, and Kali decided it was NOT a good idea after all.
So she gave her a distant kiss (from about 3 feet away).

Mr. Paul told us that there were some baby miniature ponies in another pen.
(does that make them miniature, miniature ponies?! Meh, I digress)
Kali was no longer scared of the ponies and decided to run after this brown one.
He didn't appreciate that and retreated...quickly.
So she decided to just wave and kiss him from a distance.
This is the miniature, miniature pony.
They haven't been trained yet, so we couldn't go inside the pen.
And we were told not to stick our hands in there because he might nip at us.
But that didn't scare Kali.
She stuck her little hand in there and was able to pet his nose.
However, when I went to put MY hand in there he tried to nip at me.
She must have smelled better... ::sigh::

Then we took a visit to the big horses.
And she got to ride in the back of the truck (since it was a 2 second drive)
with Lauren and Michael.
She loved it!
I didn't get any pictures with the bigger horses since we weren't going to ride them.
But they have a beautiful Black and White horse, who was so tame and gentle.
We're going to have to go back up there one SUNNY day to ride!

And another reason I love living in Florida -
Beautiful Sunsets!
This was as I was driving, I couldn't help but take a picture.
It, of course, doesn't do it justice.
The sky was a gorgeous blue/pink/grey.

PaRk FuN!!!

We have a park a few blocks away from the house.  Actually, we have 2 parks that are within walking distance from our house! We love it!!!  Kali has recently started loving parks and swings and slides and running around and collecting sand/acorns/leaves!

Loving the swings

I love her face in this picture! :)

Cheesing in her sunglasses!

Climbing, climbing, climbing!!!

Swinging with Daddy.

She's getting so big!!  And she's already 15 months old.  We had her 15 month appointment last week and she is growing, growing, growing!!
Height: 32.5 (100%); Weight: 26lb (88%); and Head: 18.2in (62%).
I think she's going to be tall...or at least, I hope she's going to be tall! She's really starting to thin out and look less like a baby and more like a toddler! I can't believe how big she's getting!
Alright...I'm going to go cry now.

ROLL TIDE ROLL!!

In case you were under a rock on Monday, let me help you out.
ALABAMA kicked LSU's rear end for the BSC Championship! Whoop Whoop!!!!!

And of course, Kali was decked out in her AL outfit that her Aunt Debbie got her.  =)
ROLL TIDE ROLL!
Love her little dress and Houndstooth bow!
And, I couldn't get a picture of the bloomers (she's too fast for me these days).
But they had the Alabama elephant on them.
ADORABLE! :)

What?! You don't sit in ottomans?
She's such a ham!

Reading a story with Grandpa during Half Time.
<3

(Did I mention that my boss is a die-hard LSU fan? And that she got FREE tickets to the Championship game? And that her husband was talking all sorts of LSU trash prior to the game? And that they had to eat their words? Yea, pretty awesome!!! LOL!!!)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Goodbye 2011, Hello 2012!!!!!

Although I hate to see 2011 go, I'm excited about what 2012 has to offer.
2011 was full of firsts and I'm so glad that I was able to be there for them.
First crawling, First foods, First words, First steps, First teeth, First time seeing Fireworks, First time on the boat, First time at the beach, and First time seeing Christmas lights (since she didn't really see them in 2010).

It was truly an amazing year!!

We rang in the New Year at a friend's house eating and having smores around the campfire.  We only stayed until about 10:00pm, then headed home to get Kali in the bed.  She was asleep before 11pm so she didn't get to see the New York New Years ball drop, but TJ and I got to watch it on the couch in our comfy jammies.  Oh yea, we're wild and crazy I tell ya!!

Here are a couple pictures of our New Years celebration!  Can't wait to see all that 2012 has in store for us!!!

Kali in her adorable Bubble Guppies shirt.
She kept going up to everyone and pointing at her shirt.
She loves than dang show!!
